The computerization activities in PAF can be divided into four major eras. In First Era (from 1975 to 1983), the Management Information System were developed / maintained through batch processing. It included Hardware Systems like IBM/3740 Data Entry Machines, IBM Sys/370 Mainframe. In Second Era (from 1983 to 1998), online processing were started. A family of IBM hardware systems like Sys/36, AS/400, Sys/4361, Sys/3090 and ES/9000 were acquired to perform the automated tasks. In Third Era (from 1999 to 2003) Client/Server computing was introduced and few Client/Server architecture based application systems were developed using RDBMS technologies. In Fourth Era (from 2003 till today), PAF Intranet was developed to act as a highway for the information dissemination up to the root level with appropriate security.
